Returning AIRE Program Participants

Thank you for previously participating in the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District’s (SDAPCD) Air Improvement Relief Effort (AIRE) Program. As a returning participant, you may request up to two (2) additional air purifiers and replacement filters for FREE, while supplies last.

The AIRE Program provides air purifiers to eligible households affected by hydrogen sulfide generated by transboundary wastewater and sewage flows near the Tijuana River Valley.

You are considered a returning participant if:

• You applied on or before May 15, 2026 and previously received an air purifier through the program.
• You still reside within the program eligibility area, which includes most households in Otay Mesa West, San Ysidro, Egger Highlands, Nestor, Tijuana River Valley, and the City of Imperial Beach.

If you meet the above criteria, you are encouraged to apply by 09/01/2026. Limited quantities are available, and the application portal may close earlier if demand exceeds supply.

How to Reapply

Please have the following information ready to avoid any application delays:

1. Last name of the household member provided in the original application.
2. Record ID - The Record ID was sent to the email provided in the original application.
   • If you don’t see the email in your inbox, search for messages from San Diego County Air Pollution Control (sdapcd@public.govdelivery.com), San Diego AIRE Team (no-reply@citygovapp.com), APCD Filters (filters@sdapcd.org) or check your spam/junk folder. If you’re still unable to find your Record ID, call (858) 586 2779 or email filters@sdapcd.org and provide your full name and address used in the original application.
   • Text only returning participants must complete a Request for Record ID form and provide the name and address on the original application, along with your contact information and staff will provide your Record ID.
     • Alternatively, you may call (858) 586 2779 or email filters@sdapcd.org and provide your full name and address used in the original application.

 Follow the instructions below to reapply.

1. Select “I am Requesting Additional Air Purifier(s)”
2. Enter your Record ID exactly as provided (e.g., APCD2026‑FLTR‑XXXXXX) and your last name
3. Complete required application information
   • If you need to update your address, please submit a Change of Address form.
4. Select number of requested air purifiers (returning participants are eligible for up to two (2) additional air purifiers)
5. Submit application
