K-12 Schools

The District administers state-funded grant programs to reduce air pollution in public schools (serving students in any grade K-12) located in disadvantaged or low-income communities. Eligible projects may include:
- School transportation, such as zero-emission school buses and supporting charging infrastructure
- Zero-emission lawn and garden equipment used - by schools or contractors - at schoolyards and sporting fields
- Composite wood products (including tables, desks, countertops, chairs, and storage cabinets) meeting NAF (no added formaldehyde) or ULEF (ultra-low emitting formaldehyde) standards
- Air filtration enhancement and replacement using new filters with MERV (minimum efficiency reporting value) of 14 or greater
