Lawn and Garden Equipment
Hosted by District 4 Supervisor Ron Roberts, the Annual "Mowing Down Pollution" Lawn Mower Trade-in event has been successfully lowering harmful air pollution emissions by an average of 2.5 tons per year since 1999. To date, San Diego County residents have replaced over 9,300 gas-powered lawn mowers and 460 other gas-powered lawn equipment with zero-emission electric-powered units.
19th Annual Event - May 12, 2018
A total of 392 lawnmowers, 115 string trimmers, 67 chainsaws, and 15 hedge trimmers were exchanged for rechargable, zero-emission models. Thank you to all participants, vendor, and volunteers that helped make this event a success! Photos and videos from the event can be found below.
