Save the Date, April 23, 2011, for Lawnmower Trade-in!
You can “go green” while mowing your grass by participating in the 12th Annual Lawnmower Trade-in Event on Saturday, April, 23, 2011. Hosted by County Supervisor Ron Roberts for the 12th year, this program allows any resident of San Diego County to turn in their working gasoline-powered lawn mower and purchase a new cordless rechargeable electric mower at a highly discounted price.
“Save April 23 and join us in reducing air pollution by switching to an electric mower,” said County Supervisor Ron Roberts. “You’ll get a great deal on the purchase of a new zero-emission, cordless electric lawnmower and you will be doing your part to ensure we have clean air to breathe and are reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”
By participating in this event, you can eliminate the air pollution from your gas-powered lawn mower, which emits as much air pollution in one hour as driving a car 200 miles. Supervisor Roberts also notes, “In the last decade we have provided 5,180 mowers and eliminated more than 150 tons of air pollution – equivalent to taking 175,800 automobiles off the road!”
Lastly, your neighbors will like it too, as these mowers are very quiet!
