This
form is for Asbestos Renovation and Demolition ONLY. The Asbestos National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air
Pollutants (NESHAP), as specified under Rule 40, CFR 61, Subpart M; (enforced locally by the San
Diego Air Pollution Control District, under authority, per Regulation XI, Subpart
M - Rule 361.145) requires the owner of an establishment, set for demolition or renovation, or the owner or operator of any equipment used to demolish or renovate any structure, to submit an Asbestos Demolition or Renovation
Operational Plan (Notice of Intention) at least 10 working days before
any asbestos stripping or removal work begins (such as, site preparation
that would break up, dislodge or similarly disturbasbestos containing
material.)
A
Notice of Intention is required for all demolitions, regardless of
whether there is the presence of asbestos containing material, or not
. All information should be included in the Notice of Intention.
Failure to do so could result in the issuance of a violation notice.
A revision is required whenever information previously submitted in the
Notice of Intention changes. Each
facility owner or operator is required to submit the applicable fee as
outlined in District Rule
40, Section (f)(e).
